Vivino Wines
Founded in 1996 by oenologist Gerasimos Hartouliaris, Divino Wines & Vinegar seeks to perpetuate the family tradition by bringing its own experience and knowledge in winemaking.
Located in Pessada, this modern winery is a perfect marriage between the traditional 16th century facility and modern wine production technologies. Located on the site of the old family cellar that existed in the past, the site has been restored, with a museum, a wine bar and facilities for the production of wine with a capacity of 100,000 bottles per year divided between 12 wines and three varieties of premium vinegar.
The visit of the cellar and the museum is offered to groups and individuals and includes a guided tour through the facilities as well as a wine tasting
The cellar produces 14 wines from the famous grape varieties of the island, including three Protected Designations of Origin (PDO), Robola, Moscato and Mavrodaphne. Traditional and aged balsamic vinegar is produced from local grapes, while Divino rose vinegar is infused with essential oil of Damascus rose petals (Rosa Damascena Celsiana).
The tasting is free and takes place in a 16th century building restored as a wine museum. Most of the exhibits are over 250 years old and represent a glimpse into Kefalonia's farming and wine traditions.
Open from 1st May to 20th October from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
